Legendary Pokémon Johto Region (Second Generation)

Legendary Pokémon are among the rarest creatures in the Pokémon universe. Hard to find, and even harder to catch. Each Pokémon game has a few of them hiding somewhere, waiting for keen-eyed players to catch.

Below, we have compiled a list of the second generation of legendary Pokémon introduced in the Pokémon game series. These Pokémon appeared in the Johto Region.

Raikou

An electric type Pokémon, Raikou is among the three legendary beasts from the second generation of Pokémon.

Suicune

Another legendary beast, Suicine is a fierce water type Pokémon.

Entei

Entei is the last of the three legendary beast, and is a fire type Pokémon.

Lugia

Referred to as the Guardian of the Sea, and a mascot for SoulSilver and Pokémon Silver, Lugia lies dormant at the bottom of the ocean. Legend has it that when it does wake and flies over, the ferocity of its flapping wings causes storms that last for forty days.

Ho-Oh

Ho-Oh is a second generation legendary bird, and the Guardian of the Skies. A mascot for HeartGold and Pokémon Gold, Ho-Oh flies above the world with its huge rainbow-colored wings. All who catch a glimpse are blessed with happiness, or so they say.

Celebi

The rarest of rare Pokémon, Celebi is a passive Pokémon by nature. Only appearing during times of peace, Celebi possesses the ability to travel through time. Before it disappeared, Celebi left behind an egg it presumably brought back from the future in the forest where it was last seen.
